Here’s a look at the “up” and the “coming” as the PGA Tour embarks on the bulk of its 2021-’22 season on Jan. 6.

• The “up” players are those who have bumped up their Hawley Rating number by the largest amount during 2021. We’ll look at all players in one set, and then a subset of those who were 200th or higher at the end of 2020.
• The “coming” players are those who qualified for this year’s tour via PGA Tour priority ranking numbers 23 and 26. Priority ranking number 23 is Korn Ferry Tour leading points-winners from the last two seasons. Priority ranking number 26 is 2020-’21 top finishers in the Korn Ferry Tour finals.

Clearly the list above contains mostly players who were establishing themselves for the first time. Narrowing it somewhat, here are the “up” players when the list is limited to those who were already ranked 200th or higher at the end of 2020:

Taking this from a different perspective, here are the Hawley Ratings of all players who are coming into the 2020-’21 PGA Tour season with eligibility based on their performance in the Korn Ferry Tour championship series at the end of last summer. This reflects performance in the recent fall 2021 events. Ages are as of Dec. 31, 2021.
